The red bars indicate the number of measles cases, and the blue line indicates vaccination coverage, among one-year-olds. In 1979, a single-dose measles vaccination strategy was introduced; a second dose was added in 1994; and in 1998 a nationwide mass-vaccination campaign was conducted among everyone between the ages of 7 and 18. In 1998, 1999 and 2000 the numbers of reported measles cases were, respectively, 9,547, 240 and 35.
